A very brief view of a
Bran-coloured Flycatcher this morning in the Chispa Valley brought up my 300th bird of Costa Rica. Typical of this species, it kept low down in scrub vegetation, and despite waiting 20 minutes, it did not reappear.
Yesterday, two
Black Guans showed well on the path as I rounded a corner, a
Chestnut-collared Swift flew overhead, and another male
Resplendent Quetzal showed briefly at 5:55am after giving a short alarm call.
